First described in Germany in the 1700s, this apple is short and round (ellipsoid) with yellow skin with red streaks and a red blush on the sunward side. It is soft, sweet, with only a little tartness and is said to have a fruity and pineapple like flavour.
It stores for up to 3 months, and is best eaten after a month of storage.
NOTE: I have yet to try this apple directly, having only grafted it in 2021, and so have relied on others for information related to this variety.
This entry will be updated as the tree grows and bears.
