First described in Hugh Ronald's "Pyrus Malus Brentfordiensisas" in 1831, and later appearing in Dr Robert Hogg's "The Fruit Manual" as "Ronald's Gooseberry Pippin".
The Gooseberry Pippin is an excellent fresh eating apple that is extremely juicy, with strong "green apple" aroma, and a spritely, refreshing, flavour.
NOTE: I have yet to try this apple directly, having only grafted it in 2021, and so have relied on others for information related to this variety.
This entry will be updated as the tree grows and bears.
