Developed by the Western Australian Department of Agriculture and Food in by renowned Apple breeder John Cripps (known for creating the Pink Lady, among others) under the codename "ANABP01", with the intention of creating a new line of disease resistant, heat tolerant, health related apples. Selected for it's very high antioxidants, and for it's deep star speckled appearance.
Commercially released in 2014 under the name "Bravo!", they are said to store well.
